Air Fryer Walleye Sandwich

Air Fryer Walleye Sandwich

  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 Wholey® Walleye Fillets (thawed if necessary, cut crosswise in half)
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 1½ cups Coleslaw mix
  • ¼ tsp Celery salt
  • 4 Brioche hamburger buns
  • ⅓ cup Hamburger dill pickle chips
  1. Preheat 3-quart air fryer to 400° for 5 minutes. In wide, shallow dish, whisk flour, garlic powder, salt, onion powder and paprika. In separate wide, shallow dish, whisk eggs; place breadcrumbs in third wide, shallow dish. Dredge walleye in flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then in breadcrumb mixture to coat; place on rimmed baking pan and spray both sides with cooking spray.

  2. Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. In 2 batches, add walleye and air fry 10 minutes or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°, turning once.

  3. In medium bowl, toss coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, lemon juice and celery salt. Makes about 1 cup.

  4. Serve walleye in buns topped with pickles and coleslaw mixture.
